Acne Clearing Solution 3 5 20 20
Only a fair replacement for Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel Murad's Acne Complex has been my holy grail in re: my longtime cystic adult acne. I've used it for over a year after many years of antibiotics, prescription vitamin A-derived topicals (tretinoin), and many other harsh products, and Murad has helped more than anything! However, I've found that the Acne Clearing Solution is not quite as effective as the Exfoliating Acne Treatment gel. While this new product seems to be a little gentler, it's also less effective. It has less Salicylic Acid (half of the prior product's concentration, I believe), and just does not seem to provide the same effect as the Exfoliating Acne Treatment gel. While I've still remained clear of the cystic acne (thankfully), I've had some minor breakout issues, of which I'd had none with the Exfoliating Acne Treatment gel. I'm hoping that Murad takes these less-than-favorable reviews into consideration and brings back the Exfoliating Acne Treatment gel as an option for those of us who found it to be more effective. Not a replacement for acne exfoliating gel During my twenties I suffered from severe acne and the Murad Acne Complex line was like a dream come true for me. Not only did it clear my skin but I actually had not had a breakout in the last three years...until they replaced the Acne Exfoliating Gel with the Clearing Solution. During the first week of using this product I developed SEVEN pimples!! After being a loyal Murad user for years I have no choice but to look for another skincare line. I understand wanting to introduce new products but I don't understand discontinuing something that was so effective. I would never have expected this from Murad. I usually never write reviews but I'm hoping if enough people speak up the Acne Exfoliating Gel will be brought back. Please. October 12, 2014
Love this product! i am a big fan of all Murad products. I received a few samples of Acne clearing solution and I knew I had to get it. It is light-weight, doesn't clog pores or make my skin feel oily. As for clearing acne, it does work well on my skin. For some reason I feel like samples worked just a little better in clearing my pores, but overall I do see a decrease in acne and it doesn't irritate my skin. October 7, 2014
Didn't do anything I was using Exfoliating gel before they discontinued it. I was very pleased with result of Exfoliating gel. It reduced pimples and made my skin smooth. It didn't irritated me. So when I ran out of it and wanted to repurchased it I found out they replaced it with Acne clearing solution. I gave it a go. At first it was fine just left an oily film after applying it. After a week I noticed I got a few more pimples and my skin was more oily. I though I was purging so I wanted to at least wait for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks It just got worse but because all of other Murad products work extremely well I decided to purchase another bottle. Maybe I just have to wait more than usual to see the results. It just didn't do anything for my acne skin. It is terrible. I'm again where I was before using Exfoliating gel. Covered in acne. I wish Murad didn't discontinued Exfoliating gel. Acne clearing solution doesn't help minimizing or preventing acne. It is also overpriced for essentially rebranded Gentle acne treatment gel. This is just not a Murad experience I am familiar with. Answer:
The Acne Clearing Solution is to be applied after you cleanse and pat dry, in a thin layer and then followed by your moisturizer. You do not rinse it off.

Answer:
The acne clearing solution is a leave on product, so you should apply a thin layer to your entire face after cleansing, and leave it on. I recommend applying a moisturizer over it, because the salicylic acid can be a bit drying.

Answer:
Acne Clearing Solution is formulation to address acne (breakouts, excess oil and shine, large or clogged pores) on all skin types. It can be used up to two times a day. Cleanse face with an appropriate cleanser, apply a large pea-size to face, follow with an appropriate lightweight moisturizing sunscreen in the morning and an appropriate lightweight moisturizer at night.

I've tried it both with a moisturizer after it and without, and it leaves me with a layer of slightly tacky, oily residue in both cases. Is this normal? Should I follow the clearing solution with another product? My makeup doesn't perform well over this residue, which concerns me because otherwise this is a wonderfully effective product.

Answer:
When you apply the Acne Clearing Solution you only need a small amount. A pea size is truly all you need. Allow it to then rest on your skin for 10 seconds and then apply a dime size of your moisturizer.
