Takes it all off! This cleanser takes all make up off. There is no need to use eye make up remover. It has taken some getting used to because it is different from traditional cleansers, but I love that it takes off eye make up too, without irritating my eyes. I don't find a residue like others mentioned, but my skin definitely feels soft after, not the tight, squeaky clean feeling after regular cleansers. I am prone to break outs and I have not broken out. I only use it at night, simply because I have other cleansers I want to use up, but will probably switch over to this in the morning when I run out of the other stuff. January 16, 2014
Gentle Cleanser Leaves My Skin Soft I don't usually like cleansing oils because they tend to break me out. (I have normal skin w/ t-zone oiliness which can get dry in the winter, but am 37 yrs old and my skin is becoming more on the normal to dry side recently) This one has not broken me out or clogged my pores and I have used it for 6 wks with my night routine. I normally use the other cleanser in this line, but when I was out I decided to try this. It works really well, leaving my skin super soft after each use. It also works on my waterproof mascara. Takes it off with ease, which is an added bonus. I use this every night, but finally repurchased the other cleanser in this line again for my morning routine because that one gives me a crisp clean feeling which I like in the mornings. I would definitely recommend this to any of my friends. It's a great product. August 27, 2013
Doesn't break out my face! I was so scared to use this because I have acne. Well it didn't break out my face, and it actually cleans ALL my makeup off my face. I do have to use another Murad cleanser before I put on my other face stuff because this does leave your face pretty oily, which I don't like. August 18, 2013

Can this be used as your pre-cleanser?

Can a person with oily skin use this cleansing oil at night as their pre-cleanse makeup remover, rinse and then follow up with the clarifying cleanser as their second cleanse? I was just wondering because I know cleansing oils are good for breaking down surface oils and sweeping them away? If this would not be an appropriate pick for the first cleanse (makeup removal) would the refreshing cleaner be a better fit for this purpose for an oily skin type. I have a whole arsenal of Murad products that am going to begin using and when I begin using a new brand I like to use the same brand of products for my whole skin care regimen for morning and night. I am just picking up the last few products to make this a full and effective regimen. Thanks in advance for the advice!

Answer:
Yes! You can indeed use the Renewing Cleansing Oil as your makeup remover and then follow with your cleanser. For oily skin we recommend the Clarifying Cleanser. The Refreshing Cleanser is great for combination skin.
