Tea Tree Oil

Not to be confused with the black and green teas brewed from the leaves of the camellia plant, Tea Tree Oil is derived from the leaves of the tea tree, a plant native to the coast of southeast Australia. The tree was named by eighteenth century British sailors who made a tea from its leaves. The leaves of the tea tree have proven to be a very versatile. In addition to quenching the thirst of homesick sailors, oil extracted from tea tree leaves is reputed to have antiseptic properties. This fragrant oil has been used traditionally to treat wounds, insect bites and a range of bacterial and fungal infections. Dr. Murad discovered that adding Tea Tree Oil to his skincare formulas enhanced their power to sooth and purify.

Post-Acne Spot Lightening Gel 4.4 5 291 297
Amazing! I have not been dissatisfied with any of the Murad products that I have used, and this one is definitely not an exception!! I have had acne for most of my life and when the break-outs stopped, I was left with redness and blotches...I have only been using this product for a couple of weeks and the improvement is amazing! I am so pleased with what this has done so far that I can't wait to see what it looks like after 6 weeks and beyond! March 3, 2010
Best in Class! I love this product!! Not only does it diminsh old acne scars and eliminate future scarring, but it heals existing blemishes faster than just using the exfoliating gel. I put this on each evening before bed and I am amazed at how good my skin looks. Some days, I even forget that I have acne!! March 3, 2010
Miracle product I'm actually going out of my way to write this review, hoping it will encourage someone who may be on the fence to buy this product. I randomly broke out severely starting five months ago, and the surge lasted nearly three months. It was horrible. My once clear skin was left covered in dark red marks so even after the acne stopped, it looked like I still had it. This product, honestly, brought my old skin back in a matter of days/weeks. I would say it is easily 90% better. I thought I would have to wait for time to lighten the marks but I truly feel like my old self again. If you are apprehensive about the price, just think about how different your skin will look in 2 weeks! I know I sound like such an ad, by my experience with this product will make me a Murad user for life. January 19, 2015
I have been using this product for over a week now, this is the best dark spot corrector I have ever used. As a person of Nigerian origination, and with sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts, I have a lot of hyper-pigmentation in the form of dark spots from adolescence. I have tried many products to diminish the dark spots, but I found that my skin is easily irritated by those products and couldn't use them for prolonged periods of time. This lightening gel has not only lightened my spots, but it prevents any future breakouts. It has also gently toned my skin that was unevenly tanned by the summer sun. The step-two night moisturizer helps balance the oil in my skin too. I love this product and I strongly recommend it for brown/black/dark skin. December 13, 2014

Answer:
You want to use the Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel at night to allow for the best results. The Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel will help lighten the pigmentation that concerns you. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the sun causes pigmentation to darken so it is very important to use sunscreen, especially when you are using a product containing hydroquinone. The minimum SPF recommended is SPF 15.

Answer:
I noticed I'd get bumps if I used this twice a day. I would stick to night time use only. Hydroquinone, the active ingredient, is considered to be readily biodegrable and photodegradable - meaning if it's exposed to UV, it will breakdown. So to solve that issue, use it right before bed. Hope that helps you.

Can I use this product to lighten dark cirlces under my eyes?

I naturally have dark circles under my eyes. I know that Hydroquinone is used to lighten skin, so I was wondering if this would work for dark circles as well. I do not have sensitive skin if that matters. Thank you.

Answer:
You do not want to apply any product any closer to the eye than the orbital bone as your body heat will cause the product to spread on the surface of your skin. Hydroquinone is a lightening agent that may indeed help with your dark circles.

The Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel will help lighten the pigmentation that concerns you. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the sun causes pigmentation to darken so it is very important to use sunscreen, especially when you are using a product containing hydroquinone.

Great question! Use the Anti Aging Acne Regimen as normal in the morning. In the evening use the Post Acne Spot Lightening Serum in place of the Acne and Wrinkle Reducer. Answer:
The Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel does contain glycolic acid which can tingle when applied as it helps to dissolve dead surface skin cells. That is likely what you are feeling. If you begin to experience redness or prolonged burning, that would be a sign to stop.

The Post Acne Spot Lightening can indeed be used with your regimen. We do not want to double treatments so in the morning use the Clarifying Cleanser, the Acne Clearing Solution and the Skin Perfecting Lotion(if needed) and a sunscreen. In the evening use the Clarifying Cleanser, the Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel and the Skin Perfecting Lotion.

Both the Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum and the Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel are designed to lighten dark pigmentation however they are slightly different. The Post Acne Spot Lightening Gel has Willow Bark Extract and Tee Tree Oil to help with breakouts while the Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum has several skin conditioners and Chitsoan for a humectant.

Answer:
Please be advised that while Murad undergoes all possible safety testing for the quality and efficacy of our products, we have not conducted specific testing for pregnant or lactating women. Dr. Murad recommends that women who are pregnant or lactating consult their physician before using any Murad products.

If you can speak with your physician and provide us with the ingredients that they would like you to avoid we can then assist you in customizing a regimen for your concerns.
