Most products and procedures that claim to “cure cellulite” or “treat cellulite”
fail because they do
not contribute to any one of the nine scientifically
proven ways that skin health can be supported.
Some of the more extreme methods may actually make skin appear even more damaged—while
others offer significant risk with no guarantee of significant benefit.
Promise: Micro-massage and localized skin stimulation will reduce cellulite.
Result: Restricted circulation / Localized irritation.

Promise: Surgical removal of sagging skin will firm and tone skin in areas prone
to cellulite.
Result: Risks of invasive surgery / Risk of extensive scarring / Extended recovery / No
change in the texture or health of skin.

Promise: Cellulite will be removed mechanically by a vacuum device inserted beneath
the skin.
Result: Risks of surgery / Liposuction is designed for body fat and cannot reach dermal
fat that is the heart of cellulite / Skin’s appearance may be significantly worse after
the procedure.

Promise: Special laser inserted beneath the skin melts cellulite so the body can
reabsorb and excrete the fat.
Result: Risks of surgery / Lipolisis is designed for body fat and cannot reach dermal fat
that is the heart of cellulite / Skin’s appearance may be significantly worse after the
procedure.

Promise: Electric shocks mimic exercise to improve muscle tone to reduce appearance
of cellulite.
Result: No possible improvement in skin appearance because muscle tone has no
bearing on the presence of cellulite. In addition, there is no evidence to support the
claim that these systems do actually improve muscle tone.
