Exfoliants and pore cleansers (Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Retinol) to deep clean
and slough off pore-clogging dead skin cells
Anti-inflammatories (Licorice Extract, Allantoin) to diminish irritation and redness
Hydrators (honey extract and algae) to control sebum while keeping skin balanced
and healthy
DO use dietary supplements for internal skincare. Supplements offer protection from
the inside and can help minimize breakouts.
DO use an oil-free, full spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen to prevent hyperpigmentation
and to preserve skin elasticity. Many medications used to treat acne can actually
make your skin more sensitive to ultraviolet light.
DO frequently change pillowcases and towels.
DO replace makeup sponges and sterilize makeup brushes to help prevent bacteria
from flourishing.
DO use a medicated acne treatment concealer to heal while you conceal.
DO eat a variety of foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy
products which will help encourage skin health from within.
DO seek professional help—regular facials by a qualified esthetician help keep pores clean.

DON'T use drying products. Harsh astringents and cleansers can actually worsen acne.
Benzoyl Peroxide can leave your skin very dry and irritated. Dehydrated, acne-prone
skin “compensates” by producing even more oil.
DON'T pick. No matter how tempting, squeezing blemishes can prolong infection and
can also cause permanent scarring.
DON'T use greasy cosmetics. Oily makeup can cause clogged pores. Make sure you
only use non-comedogenic makeup.
DON'T scrub too hard. Treating acne-inflamed skin too roughly or with scalding hot
water may help spread infection.
DON'T ignore it. The little time it takes to care for your skin each day can make all
the difference in the way you look and feel.
